MenuWright

Getting started

Create your MenuWright account, connect your POS or upload a CSV, and run your first menu analysis.

Create your account

  1. Go to menuwright.com and click Sign Up.
  2. Enter your restaurant name, email, and password.
  3. Verify your email address.

Connect your data

MenuWright needs two inputs: sales data (what sold and when) and food costs (what each item costs to make).

Option A: Connect Square POS

  1. Go to Settings → POS Integration → Connect Square.
  2. Authorize MenuWright to read your Square sales data (read-only; MenuWright never modifies your Square account).
  3. MenuWright imports your last 90 days of sales and syncs daily.

See POS integration for details.

Option B: Upload CSV/Excel

  1. Go to Settings → Data Import → Upload File.
  2. Upload a CSV or Excel file with columns: item_name, category, units_sold, revenue, food_cost.
  3. Map the columns if your headers differ.

Add food costs

If your POS does not include per-item food costs:

  1. Go to Menu → Edit Costs.
  2. Enter the per-unit food cost for each item.
  3. Save. The matrix recalculates automatically.

Run your first analysis

Once sales data and food costs are loaded:

  1. Go to Dashboard.
  2. The menu matrix renders automatically — every item plotted by profitability (margin) and popularity (units sold).
  3. Click any item to see its classification, AI recommendation, and projected dollar impact.

See Menu matrix for how to read the chart.
