Account, branding, and team
Manage your restaurant profile, logo and colors, team memberships, password, and multi-restaurant access.
Use Settings to manage the restaurant profile, branding, team access, integrations, billing, and your account password. Owner permissions are scoped to the home restaurant: switching into a client restaurant does not grant owner controls there.
Restaurant profile
The Restaurant Profile section shows your home restaurant's name and the signed-in email address, even when you are viewing another restaurant.
- The email field is read-only.
- An owner viewing the home restaurant can change the restaurant name.
- The name must not be blank after trimming.
- The name field is editable only for an owner in the home restaurant. In every other context—including staff or consultant access and a switched client restaurant—it is read-only, with a note that only the restaurant owner can change it.
Save the new name to update the profile. Settings shows a success or error toast for the request.
Branding
The Branding section controls the logo and the two colors used by the dashboard shell.
Logo
Choose a PNG, JPEG, or SVG logo up to 200 KB. Raster images are resized for the stored preview; SVG files are stored as SVG data and rendered as an image. You can remove an existing logo without uploading a replacement.
The dashboard uses the saved logo in the navigation area. When no logo is saved, it displays the MenuWright wordmark instead.
Colors
Set a Primary Color and Secondary Color using six-digit #RRGGBB values. Save Branding to apply the values to the dashboard navigation and accents.
Branding changes require owner access. The server validates the file type, size, and color format before saving, so an invalid value is rejected instead of partially applied.
Team members
The Team section is owner-only. Add an existing MenuWright account by email and choose one of these restaurant roles:
- Consultant
- Staff
Members see the restaurant when they sign in and can switch to it from the dashboard. The team list distinguishes native (home-restaurant) users from membership users.
Adding a member
The email match is case-insensitive, and the person must already have a MenuWright account. Adding a home-restaurant user updates their role unless that user is the restaurant owner. Adding someone from another home restaurant creates or updates a membership for this restaurant.
Adding the same membership again updates its role rather than creating a duplicate membership.
Removing a member
Remove deletes the membership for the selected restaurant. A native home-restaurant user cannot be removed through this endpoint; MenuWright's current member flow does not delete user accounts.
Switching restaurants
If your account can access more than one restaurant, the dashboard header shows an Active restaurant selector. It includes:
- Your home restaurant, with its home role.
- Any restaurants where you have an active staff or consultant membership.
Choose a restaurant to switch the active context. MenuWright issues fresh access and refresh tokens bound to the selected restaurant, then reloads the app. The selected context scopes tenant-aware requests, but Settings is not fully restaurant-scoped: its Restaurant Profile request still reads your home restaurant. A switched session is checked against the current membership on every request; removing the membership makes that switched access invalid.
When you switch back to your home restaurant, the home role and owner controls become available again. In a client context, Settings hides team and integration owner controls and makes the restaurant name read-only, while the profile still displays your home restaurant's name.
Account and integrations
The Account section shows your email and role and lets you change your password. Enter the current password, a new password of at least eight characters, and the confirmation. A successful change refreshes the stored tokens so you remain signed in.
Settings also shows the Square POS status. Owners can connect when it is not connected or reconnect when the saved authorization needs attention. See Square POS for the sync flow.
Billing lives on the same page; see Billing and plans for plan limits and payment management.
